Follow the Kids
Summer heat is blazing. What to do to keep cool? As life does, I was humbled with a lesson to slow down this week. It gave me perspective and made me remember to just be in the moment. Who better to teach me that than my kids. It was hot. The kids had an idea and we went with it. We went old school and pulled out the sprinkler. Fully clothed, parents and kids alike, we went through the sprinkler.
In that moment yes there was of course refreshment and relief from the heat. There was also joy and full presence in that moment. Time stopped and I soaked in the laughter and the silliness of it all. It was a refreshing break from adulting.
