Where is Your Awareness?
In a time of uncertainty it’s easy to fall into our usual patterns. Before you know it you’ve emotionally eaten an entire bag of chips or your wine consumption has gone up. Or all of a sudden packages are littering your front porch from the increase in online shopping. Stress sends us into the fight, flight, freeze mode. Numbing is an escape; it’s a way to not face what’s bugging us—or what we fear.
From the Huna perspective, we learn the 1st principle IKE: The world is what you think, Be aware. In a sleeping state, while we aren’t facing the discomfort of the anxiety or the fear we are perpetuating more of it. Stop. Sit with the discomfort. It’s okay that it’s there. In fact, acknowledge that it is there. Only when things are in our awareness can we change them. And that’s where our real power comes in.
What are you aware of right now?
